Garret C. Smith, Actor

Garret is from the Peigan and Kainai Tribes of the Blackfoot Nation in Southern Alberta. A graduate of the Centre For Indigenous Theatre in 2013, Garret has been working as their Program Development Assistant since April 2015.

Recent theatre credits include: Making Treaty 7 (MT7 Cultural Society) Deceitful Above All Things (Factory Theatre and Summerworks) Thunderstick (Centre for Indigenous Theatre) Dreary and Izzy (Western Canada Theatre) The Honouring (Kahawi Dance Theatre) and Stopheart (Factory Theatre). Film/T.V. credits include: Canada The Story Of Us, Canada Heritage Minute, The Cycle of Life, Great Spirit, and Dreamkeepers.

Garret is also a playwright and his play DEADBEATS has been presented at the Weesageechak Begins to Dance Festival in Toronto, Ontario (2013 & 2015), Rubaboo Festival in Edmonton, Alberta (2014) and Prismatic Festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, (2015). He is currently working on a new piece called Blackfoot Country.
